The "Shu Residence" is a typical archaic architecture of Qing Dynasty & Ming Dynasty, and attracts the tourists both from domestic and overseas with fret long-style windows, brick-laid courtyard, simple & unsophisticated furnishings, as well as deep & serene courtyard. Shanghai is an important source area of the Chinese Water-color Painting, here the water-color painting keeps very tacit relation with the water town, as well as traditional culture accumulation in this thousand-year ancient water town. The combination of modern art and ancient culture is reflected on the water-color painting rooting in "Shu Residence" of Zhujiajiao.
The Chinese water-color painting has experienced more than one hundred years development, with the great efforts made by several generations of the excellent Chinese water-color painting artists, now it has formed a new style Chinese water-color painting combined the western water-color painting (mainly rely on England’s) and Chinese profound tradition culture.
